Robin Petersen and her husband Peter Townsend own and manage Back Bay Farm, a privately owned riding facility located on Boston's North Shore. Robin has been training riders and horses for over 25 years. Her riding school caters to children and adults at all levels with a wide variety of lesson horses and privately owned horses. Robin welcomes students just starting out, who want to master the basics to feel secure in the saddle, returning adults or those riders wishing to show.

The 14-acre farm offers excellent turnout in a serene setting.
Modern barn buildings have accommodations for 25 horses, indoor
and outdoor rings, heated tack room and bathroom.
Back Bay Farm's functionality is second only to the beauty of the area.
Only 30 miles from Boston, Back Bay Farm abuts hundreds of open acres
with trails for riding. Horses and riders can also experience
Ipswich's wonderful scenic Crane's Beach from October to March. Riding
on the beach is always a thrill and helps ease the doldrums of the long New England winters.

Back Bay Farm was named "so that people would know we are in the Boston area. I see Back
Bay Farm as a great place for anyone who wants to ride, spend time around horses or has
an interest in competing from the short or long stirrup divisions on up." While Robin
takes groups of students to New England area shows, "it's not the kind of barn
where we travel all the time. I focus on offering quality individual lesson programs
at home and spend a lot of time teaching horse care. It's very 'hands-on' here, and my customers feel this is their facility." |
$975 for Full Board
Additional $225/week for Full Care/Training Board
Robin supports the North Shore Horse Show series. Riders at Back Bay Farm routinely qualify for both the Mass. and New England Finals.
